Smith Excels in 8-1 Fargo Win
The Kalamazoo Badgers extended their losing streak with a defeat by the Fargo Dinosaurs.

The Fargo Dinosaurs defeated the Kalamazoo Badgers, 8-1, at Portage Park. Fargo right fielder Bob Smith had a superb performance. He was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The winner was Francisco Luna, who threw 80 pitches over 6 innings. The right-hander was charged with 1 run on 7 hits. Pedro Gusmán finished to wrap up his 1st save.

With Fargo leading 3-1 in the top of the fifth, Smith batted against Kalamazoo pitcher Gary Murphy. Smith hit a fastball to left for a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season put the Dinosaurs on top, 5-1.
