Ligers Clip Wildcats, 2-1, in R1 Contest
The bats were silent for much of the day at Ligers Ballpark. But Blanchard HS third baseman Roger Rivera conjured up just enough offense to carry the Ligers past the Central HS Wildcats, 2-1. In a game dominated by the pitching staffs, Rivera was 2-2 with 2 singles and a walk. The win brought Blanchard HS into a 2-2 tie with Central HS in the best-of-7 series.

Matt Miller helped out the Blanchard HS cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 3 with a walk.

"We had the right guys up at the right times," said Central HS manager Gabriel Castro. "We just didn't cash in."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ligers Ballpark in Blanchard.
