The Central HS Wildcats started the Round 1 in style, downing the visiting Blanchard HS Ligers at Wildcats Ballpark by a score of 8-4 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Wildcats designated hitter Greg López hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4.

López contributed in the bottom of the first. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring triple. It was one at-bat among others that helped Central HS get the win.

"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," López said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Wildcats Ballpark in Little Rock.
