Taiwan Tech University Takes 1-0 Series Lead Behind 4 RBIs from 3B Wu
|
The Taiwan Tech University Typhoon took the first game of the Round 1 in dramatic fashion, topping the Outback State University Crocs, 5-4, in an extra-inning walk-off win. Typhoon third baseman Song Wu was 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Taiwan Tech University left fielder Kelsey Drew, facing Harry Youngberry, had a run-scoring single. It gave the Typhoon the 5-4 win.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Wu. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Typhoon Ballpark in Taipei.
