Kensington was the site of a true pitchers' duel.
The Flying Fish grabbed a win, 2-1, at Kensington, overcoming a fine effort from Punta Cana pitcher Varick Eubel. Eubel went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Picking up his 20th save was 18-year old right-handed pitcher Valentín Mejía.
Bridgetown took a 2-1 lead on Brody Clark's 9th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Clark hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Punta Cana pitcher Gabriel Pérez visibly frustrated.
"That's how you're going to be successful," said Flying Fish manager Doug Erickson. "It starts with pitching and it will always be pitching."
The win for the Flying Fish lifted their record to 37-33.
