Coasters Win, 8-5, Versus Hunting Hills HS
|
Hunting Hills HS got a terrific game from center fielder Don Hawkins. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Nassau HS, 8-5. Hawkins went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The Coasters move to 19-21 with the win, while the Stags drop to 14-26.
Leo Hayter came through with a big-time hit for Nassau HS. The pinch hitter smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 8-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Hayter.
