Collegio San Carlo Sent Home with 4-2 Loss
|
The Canuck HS Battlecats knocked off the Collegio San Carlo Kings, 4-2, in Atlantic Conference action at San Carlo Grounds. Canuck HS pitcher and Vancouver, Canada, native Sean Cooper had an outstanding performance. Cooper got the win, improving to 4-1. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed no runs. The first-place Battlecats improved to 29-13.
Canuck HS relied on the bat of Dan Porter to get the win. The second baseman ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the first inning to put the Battlecats ahead, 1-0. For the game, Porter had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Nobuhito Sugiyama.
