Point Grey HS Hounds starter Mike Johnson found his groove in his team's 3-2 win over the Montego Bay HS Mariners. The winner was Point Grey HS reliever Karl Noel, now 1-0. The loser was Soshu Terada. With the win, the Hounds have a record of 12-18.
Point Grey HS used the clutch hitting of Ewan Mrazek to snag the win. The right fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hounds ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"We're learning some lessons in the school of hard knocks," philosophized losing manager Donald Bates.
