Diamond Cats Suffer 6-1 Road Loss
|
The Point Grey HS Hounds defeated the Guantanamo HS Diamond Cats, 6-1, in Atlantic Conference action at Ballpark of Vancouver. Point Grey HS pitcher John Duff had a standout performance. The 5th-place Hounds improved to 11-15.
Rory Lachance had a big run-scoring triple for the Hounds in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Point Grey HS leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 18-year old left-handed pitcher Arturo Alejándrez and swatted a triple to right. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hounds ahead, 2-0.
"John gets on the mound and he competes and that's what you want," said Point Grey HS manager José Díaz.
