Coasters Snatch Late Win
|
Nassau HS turned a good effort from starting pitcher Jay Gallimore into a win over the Bogaerts Bricklayers at Nassau Ballpark. The final score was 3-2 in 12 innings. The win belonged to Arthur Shorland in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Kiril Kos took the loss for Bogaerts. The Coasters move to 11-15 with the win, while the Bricklayers drop to 10-16.
The Coasters got a clutch hit from third baseman Jon Staines. In the bottom of the 12th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Coasters.
Staines called the extra-inning win a "confidence builder."
