Wonders Stay Hot With 5-4 Win
The Island HS Wonders trumped the Hunting Hills HS Stags, 5-4, at Hunting Hills Ballpark. Island HS center fielder Art Johnson was terrific. He was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. Alonso Gómez picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Bob Pretty suffered the loss. César Moreno picked up his 5th save of the season.

Johnson had a game-changing double in the top of the ninth. On a 0-1 fastball from Bob Pretty, he banged a run-scoring double to left, giving the Wonders a 5-4 lead. It was the 2nd double of the year for Johnson.

"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Hunting Hills HS manager Shunsen Kodama.

Their 12-7 record puts the Wonders third in the Atlantic Conference Caribbean Division.
