McIver Homers Twice in 9-3 Diamond Cats Win
Guantanamo HS second baseman Dave McIver helped his team beat the Gonaives HS Revolution, 9-3. McIver, who is rated as the 21st best prospect by BNN, went 3 for 4 for the Diamond Cats. Cristo Pérez, 1-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 3.2 innings. The losing skid has reached 6 games for Gonaives HS.

Luis Herrera had a big grand slam home run for the Diamond Cats in the bottom of the second inning. With Guantanamo HS leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he sized up a fastball from 15-year old right-handed pitcher Armel Michaux and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Diamond Cats on top, 5-0.

"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Gonaives HS skipper Armando Navarro.
