Pitcher Hugh Newbury was sensational for the Bowness HS Spartans in his team's 4-0 triumph over the Lycee Fenelon Linguists. Newbury earned the win. Bowness HS is 6th in the Atlantic Conference Canadian Division with a record of 8-12.
Drake Cox went 1 for 3 with a walk for Bowness HS. The 18-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Thibault Coste. It was his 18th hit of the season.
"Hugh gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Bowness HS skipper Rossano Carlucci.
