Leopards Scratch Out 2-1 Win
|
Strathcona HS Leopards starter Brian Lovett turned in a sterling performance against the Nassau HS Coasters, leading his team to a slim, 2-1 win. Lovett picked up the win for Strathcona HS, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 1 run on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. Jorge Guerra picked up the save, his 1st.
Walt Baxter had a direct impact on the outcome. Baxter contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Strathcona HS up, 2-1.
"We hit some balls hard and didn't get rewarded for it," said Nassau HS manager Muneyaki Koga.
The Leopards are now 8-9.
