García Socks Peloteros in 5-2 Goths Win
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Windsor Canada Goths and Ciefuegos Peloteros.
Behind the hitting of Gustavo García, the Windsor Canada Goths stopped the Ciefuegos Peloteros, 5-2. García slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Goths. The last-place Goths are now 23-25, the Peloteros 25-23.
Windsor Canada won the game in part because of George Staitie. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Goths ahead, 3-1. For the game, Staitie had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Windsor Canada manager Murray Harris.
