The Ciefuegos Peloteros turned back the Instituto Politecnico Nacional Mules, 6-5, at Rascals Stadium. Luis Manuel Polanco, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 4 for 4 with 4 singles. Lorenzo Alarcon got credit for the win, improving to 1-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. The Peloteros bumped their record to 26-20 with this latest triumph.

Had Polanco not come through in the bottom of the seventh, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Polanco hit a run-scoring single. The Peloteros took the lead, 6-5, and never looked back.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Instituto Politecnico Nacional manager Pablo Rojas. "But we decided not to take it."
