The excitement level at Rascals Stadium reached a crescendo in the final at-bat.
The Peloteros earned a hard-fought, 3-2 win in 11 innings at Rascals Stadium. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Atletico Castille Sociedad Deportiva pitcher Manny Maldonado. Maldonado went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. At 24-19, Ciefuegos is in second place in the Atlantic League Central America Division.
The Peloteros got a clutch hit from third baseman Felipe Ledezma. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Peloteros.
After the game, Ciefuegos manager Enrique Ruíz applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
