Physicists Use Late Rally to Win
|
The ETH Zurich Physicists picked up a win at Terrors Ballpark, knocking off the Hamilton Canada Terrors, 4-2. Starting pitcher Laurent Roux played a key role in the triumph. The winner in relief was Helmut Kahn. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Israhel Wendlinger earned the save for ETH Zurich, his 10th.
ETH Zurich used a timely hit from Jesse Lengnisch to get the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Physicists ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Julián Carrasco.
The win elevated the Physicists to 23-18.
