Goths 5-1 Losers to Delft
|
Ballpark of Sakado College was the site for Atlantic League action featuring the Windsor Canada Goths and Delft Engineers.
Brian Stuut, who is tied for 3rd in the AL in strikeouts with 35, was locked in. The right-hander led the Delft Engineers to a 5-1 win against the Windsor Canada Goths at Ballpark of Sakado College. Stuut, the winner, moves to 2-2. He threw 5.2 innings of 1-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Kiril van der Ban earned the save for Delft, his 9th.
In the bottom of the first, 21-year old right fielder Larry Leurink hit a 2-run home run. The 6th home run of the season for the Delft designated hitter put the Engineers on top, 2-0.
"It's not by accident that Brian finds ways to get outs," said Delft skipper Paco Cuellar.
The Engineers, at 15-23, sit in 5th place in the Atlantic League Europe Division.
