Light Blues Overcome Great Performance by Okuta in Win
|
The Instituto Politecnico Nacional Mules got a superb performance from first baseman Eichiro Okuta, but the Cambridge Light Blues still won the game, 9-6. Okuta was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Max Goss, now 1-0, was credited with the win in 2.2 innings of relief. He allowed 3 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. Cambridge is now 27-12, Instituto Politecnico Nacional 17-22.
Kieran Robertson hit a bases-clearing triple off Pepe Cardoza in the top of the seventh, which put the Light Blues in front, 4-3. Robertson had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 3.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Robertson.
