Goths Losers, 5-3, Versus ETH Zurich
|
The ETH Zurich Physicists defeated the Windsor Canada Goths by the score of 5-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Jacques Orlando. Orlando was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Physicists on the day. Wilfred Mohr picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Gregory Underwood was tagged with the loss. Israhel Wendlinger earned the save, his 8th.
With ETH Zurich leading 4-3 in the top of the seventh, Orlando hit a run-scoring single off Windsor Canada hurler Quim Zeta. It was the 32nd hit of the season for Orlando and put his team ahead, 5-3.
"It never gets old," said Orlando. "Winning, that is."
ETH Zurich is third in the Atlantic League Europe Division with a record of 20-15.
