Physicists Upend Engineers, 5-0
|
Basilio Falconieri, who is rated as the 55th best prospect by BNN, never let the Engineers get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his sinker, to pitch the Physicists to a win, 5-0. The winner was Falconieri. He threw 5.2 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Loeck Roks. With the win, ETH Zurich upped its record to 19-13.
The Physicists got a gift in the top of the fifth inning, when they were leading 1-0. With two out and the bases loaded, Johannes Daecher reached on an error by the right fielder, driving in 2 run3. It made the score 3-0, ETH Zurich.
"Basilio kept them off-balance, threw a great game for us," said Physicists manager Joe Silver.
