Late Rally Earns Yerington HS 8-6 Win
Though he had a terrific game, Joe Pierson could not prevent his team, the Bellevue West HS Surge, from absorbing a loss. Yerington HS won the game, 8-6. Pierson went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The Skeeters, at 23-24, sit in 5th place in the Western League Northwest Conference.

Yerington HS used the timely hitting of Scotty Blowey to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Skeeters on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Blowey.
