Skeeters Take Down Chancellors, 6-3
|
Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Gerard Weber, the Yerington HS Skeeters defeated the Chatsworth HS Chancellors, 6-3. Weber went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Skeeters. Rob Buttler, who leads the WL in quality starts with 5, was the winner. He's now 5-2. The loser was Ron Benjamin. With the win, Yerington HS upped its record to 21-21.
It could have been a different outcome for Yerington HS, had it not been for Paul Brandon, the 18-year old left fielder . Brandon contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the second inning to put Yerington HS up, 3-0.
"At the end of the day, wins and losses are really the only thing that matters," said Brandon.
