Miles Now 4-1 After Beating Reds
The Boone HS Matadors knocked off the Mankato West HS Reds, 1-0, in Western League action at Boone Ballpark. Boone HS pitcher and Ankeny, Iowa, native Dylan Miles had an outstanding performance. Earning his 8th save of the year was Logan Whitehead. The Matadors sit in 5th place in the Western League Midwest Conference with a record of 18-24.

It was an impressive turn from the legendarily hard-working Miles, who tallied 4 strikeouts in 7.1 innings while allowing just 3 hits. Miles, who is tied for 7th in the WL in innings pitched with 49.2, goes to 4-1 on the year with 22 strikeouts.

"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Boone HS manager Drake Fisher.
