Walk-Off Win Makes Yerington HS 16-20

Skeeters Ballpark played host to some high drama.
The Yerington HS Skeeters faced a tough opponent in De La Salle HS pitcher Chester Barnes, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Skeeters Ballpark by a final score of 5-3. Barnes went 5 innings and allowed 2 runs. Reliever José López picked up the win. His record improves to 2-1. Nick Knight took the loss.
Yerington HS got a knockout punch from Carl Baur. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"The crowd was juiced," said Baur.
After today's action, Yerington HS sits at 16-20, while De La Salle HS falls to 22-14.
