Nuggets Lose Contest, 5-1
|
The Jesuit HS Corsairs defeated the Dakota HS Nuggets, 5-1, at Ballpark of Jesuit HS. Chris Brooks, who is tied for 2nd in the WL in bases on balls with 22, was a standout performer for Jesuit HS. His 4 hits included 2 singles and 2 doubles -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 2 he knocked in. Joe Parsons closed out the game, earning his 3rd save. The 'W' lifts Jesuit HS's record to 20-15.
In the bottom of the first, Ron White delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 2nd, the Jesuit HS right fielder hit a 2-run home run, putting the Corsairs in front, 5-1.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Dakota HS manager Al Miller.
