Drooping Grizzlies Lose 8th Straight
|
The Lodi HS Devils faced a tough opponent in Rocky Mountain HS pitcher Tim White, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Lodi Grounds by a final score of 4-2. White went 5.2 innings and allowed no runs. Matt Sanders earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. The save went to Eric King, his 3rd this season.
Had Joe Johnson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Johnson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Devils.
"We've hit a lull," said Rocky Mountain HS manager Aurelio López.
The losses continue to add up for Rocky Mountain HS, having now dropped 8 straight.
