Boone HS used a superb performance from starting pitcher Mike Henry to down the Lakewood HS Lancers, 1-0, in 12 innings. Logan Whitehead snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-1 on the season. Mike Jones suffered the loss. The 5th-place Matadors have a record of 16-19.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the 12th for Boone HS. That's when Aurelio Escamilla hit a run-scoring double off 18-year old left-handed pitcher Mike Jones to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"This game was intense," Escamilla said, postgame.
