Lex Ploeg never let the Flying Fish get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Pacos to a win, 1-0. Ryuichi Kichikawa finished to wrap up his 2nd save. Puerto Plata, at 36-33, occupies third place in the Intercontinental Baseball Coalition Paradise League.

Walt Kaiser went 1-2 with a double for Puerto Plata. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Kaiser had a clutch at-bat. Facing Bridgetown hurler Hugo Amoruso, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Pacos a 1-0 lead.

"We came out on top and that's all I can ask for," said Ploeg.
