The Okinawa Shisa welcomed the Palm Springs Codgers to an night game at Elderberry Field.

The Okinawa Shisa powered past the Palm Springs Codgers, 9-2, at Elderberry Field. Michael Barber provided some of the pop. Hoots was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Héctor Anaya got the win, improving to 4-7. He held the Codgers to 2 runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 3.

Jaime Escobar, who is tied for 8th in the SL in RBI with 62, had a timely hit in the top of the fifth inning. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Okinawa catcher hit a 2-run single. That put the Shisa in front, 3-1.

"I think it just wasn't our night," said Palm Springs skipper Bob Sullivan.

The 4th-place Shisa now have a record of 62-52.
