Win Goes to Warriors in Tight Contest
|
The Ikari Warriors topped the Laval Islanders, 4-1, in Pacific Alliance action at Islanders Ballpark. The game was highlighted by the performance of Ikari pitcher Aad Moree. Reliever Augusto Ramírez picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Raúl Martínez took the loss. Liu-chun Du got the save, his 14th in 15 chances.
Ikari used a clutch hit from Rubén López to get the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Warriors ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
Moree told a Ikari Today reporter that he was "delighted" with the win.
With the win, Ikari goes to 84-54, while the Islanders fall to 59-79.
