Islanders Lose Late to Crushers
|
Getting a good performance from first baseman Mike Rose, the Seoul Crushers defeated the Laval Islanders, 7-4. Rose was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Crushers. Reliever Martin Brown picked up the win. His record improves to 6-3. Ethan Simms took the loss. The Crushers improved their record to 82-54 by beating Laval.
Rose had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-1 fastball from Ethan Simms, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Crushers a 7-4 lead. It was the 12th home run of the year for Rose.
"If I eat my fiber, they say they'll still let me swing the bat," joked Rose.
