The Kumamoto Mothra knocked off the Laval Islanders, 6-0, in Pacific Alliance action at Ibaraki Grounds. Kumamoto pitcher and Honolulu, Hawaii, native Iván Enríquez had an outstanding performance. The last-place Mothra now have a win-loss record of 58-75.

Making an impact for the home team was Arturo Carolino. In the bottom of the second, the 26-year old right fielder had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 2-0, Mothra.

"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Carolino told the Kumamoto Chronicle. "It's a great group and we're happy with the win."
