Ames Now 4-4 After Subduing Flying Fish

Puerto Plata picked up a win at Broad Brook Grounds, bumping off the Bridgetown Flying Fish, 2-1. Pitcher Mike Ames was a major reason the Pacos emerged victorious. Allen Alexander picked up his 20th save of the season. At 34-33, Puerto Plata is in 4th place in the Intercontinental Baseball Coalition Paradise League.
Ames earned the win, going 8 strong innings for Puerto Plata. The native of Yigo, Guam, allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 8. Bridgetown hitters did next to nothing against the left-hander.
Ames said afterward that "winning is the goal."
