Red-Hot Sandgnats Win Again
|
Crystal Lake second baseman Alexander Craig helped his team beat the Shin Seiki Evas, 5-0. Craig, who finished 2nd in the SL in hits with 174 in 2035, went 1 for 3 for the Sandgnats. The winner in relief was Freddie Wilder. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. He now owns a record of 1-1. The loss makes Shin Seiki 6-5.
With Crystal Lake leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Craig came up to bat against Shin Seiki pitcher Lee Barraclough. Craig hit a knuckleball to center for a grand slam home run. His 2nd home run of the season put the Sandgnats on top, 5-0.
"Swagger goes hand in hand with playing well," said Crystal Lake manager Steve Hott.
