Pacos Claim 2-1 Win
|
The Aruba Wahoos got a superb performance from pitcher António Medina. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Puerto Plata. The Pacos won the game, 2-1. Medina threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Allen Alexander was credited with the save for Puerto Plata, his 18th of the season. Puerto Plata now owns a record of 30-30.
Dylan Pérez drove in one run for Puerto Plata. With one out and the game tied in the top of the sixth inning, Pérez had a clutch at-bat. Facing Aruba hurler António Medina, he grounded out, driving in 1 run to give the Pacos a 2-1 lead.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Puerto Plata manager Shawn Clarke said.
