Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Flying Fish
|
Charlotte Amalie got a big-time effort from pitcher George Glenn, but it wasn't enough to keep the Bridgetown Flying Fish from winning the game, 3-2. Glenn threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. The third-place Flying Fish go to 31-27.
It could have been a different outcome for Bridgetown, had it not been for Michael Billings, the 18-year old second baseman . Billings contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Bridgetown up, 1-0.
After the game, Bridgetown manager Doug Erickson applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
