Decepticons Lose to Puerto Plata, 4-3
|
Ichiro Koumura, who is tied for 5th in the IBC in complete games with 2, propelled his team to victory over the Santo Domingo Decepticons. The final score was 4-3, Puerto Plata. In 7.1 innings, Koumura surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 14 and walking 0. He allowed 3 runs. Puerto Plata, at 28-27, holds down 5th place in the Intercontinental Baseball Coalition Paradise League.
The Decepticons had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Pacos going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 18-year old first baseman Walt Kaiser came to the plate. Kaiser hit a 2-run double on a 3-1 knuckleball from Santo Domingo hurler José Deleón. It was Kaiser's 1st double of the year.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Kaiser.
