With pinch hitter Oliverio Guerrero leading the charge, the Toyohira Fubuki defeated the Laval Islanders, 10-5, at Islanders Ballpark. Guerrero, who is rated as the 9th best prospect by BNN, was 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The first-place Fubuki are 83-47.

Toyohira used a well-timed hit by Dermott Westoby to capture the win. The third baseman socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Fubuki ahead, 6-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"I know everybody in here is putting in the work," said Laval manager Ken Tuttle. "It's just not paying off."
