Phantoms Get 5-3 Win Versus Laval
|
The Toronto Phantoms knocked off the Laval Islanders, 5-3, in Pacific Alliance action at Phantoms Ballpark. Toronto pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Jesús Luna had an outstanding performance. Luna yielded 3 runs over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 8. His record improves to 7-0. Picking up his 4th save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Eddy Young.
Toronto got a big at-bat from Perth, Australia native Rowan Guao, who in the bottom of the second hit a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Phantoms ahead, 3-0.
"I always go out there hoping to contribute," said Luna.
Toronto, at 63-63, sits in third place in the Pacific Alliance Maple Leaf.
