Frenchies Snag 4-2 Win
|
The Quebec City Frenchies picked up a win at Hamilton Grounds, taking down the Hamilton Industrialists, 4-2. Starting pitcher Mario González was a big reason why. Quebec City reliever Shumei Sakei was the winner. His record is now 5-2. The losing pitcher was Andrew Bevan. Quebec City is now 59-68. Hamilton is 63-64.
Quebec City used the clutch hitting of Claudio Noriega to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Frenchies the lead, 3-2. For the game, Noriega had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
Said losing manager Robert Davis: "Give the Frenchies credit. They played a better game than we did."
