2042 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Yuma Arroyos.
The Yuma Arroyos went down to defeat to Dae-hyun Pak and his Aurora teammates. The final score was 6-2, in favor of the Borealis. Reliever Alex Cox picked up the win. His record improves to 7-3. Elio Polandi took the loss.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Hideki Nishikawa came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Yuma pitcher Elio Polandi, he hit a 2-2 forkball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Aurora on top, 4-2.
Said losing manager Kiyohisa Takeda: "Give the Borealis credit. They played a better game than we did."
The first-place Borealis, at 68-43, now lead their division by 2½ games.
