Kentucky Defeated By Trendsetters, 7-4
|
The skies opened up and the rain fell at New Frontier Park.
The New Orleans Trendsetters beat the Kentucky Thoroughbreds, 7-4, at New Frontier Park. The win was due in part to first baseman Edgar Escobar, who was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Iván Canseco in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Valke Petiet took the loss.
Escobar had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 1-2 curveball from Valke Petiet, he banged a 2-run double to right-center, giving the Trendsetters a 5-3 lead. It was the 19th double of the year for Escobar.
"I put some good swings on the ball," said Escobar.
New Orleans is in last place in the Imperial League Dixie with a record of 48-62.
