Surge Pull Off Thrilling 5-1 Win in Extras
|
The Bellevue West HS Surge used a stellar performance from pitcher Stanley Smith to throttle the Chatsworth HS offense en route to an extra-inning, 5-1 win at Ballpark of Chatsworth HS. Bellevue West HS is 6th in the Western League Midwest Conference with a record of 9-13.
Wilbert Foster came through with a big-time hit for Bellevue West HS. The center fielder smacked a solo home run in the top of the 17th inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Surge manager Greg Rosenblatt. "This one was nice to get."
