Ghosts Get One-Run Win at Shin Seiki
|
Santiago Aranda led Niihama-shi to a win over Shin Seiki. The final score was 7-6. The third baseman had a huge performance. He whacked 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. Young-pil Pin, the winning pitcher, improved to 10-3. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 8 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 3. Earning his 7th save of the year was Geoffrey Bowman.
With Niihama-shi leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Aranda hit a fastball from Thomas Vail for a 2-run double. It was his 17th double of the season and put the Ghosts ahead, 3-0.
"Nothing is scripted in this game," said Aranda.
The 63-45 Ghosts lead the Sovereign League Rising Sun by one game.
