Niihama-shi met Crystal Lake in a late-season showdown.

The Niihama-shi Ghosts beat the Crystal Lake Sandgnats, 7-3, at Ellison Field at Dole Park. Shojiro Samurakami starred for Niihama-shi. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Young-pil Pin earned the win, while 2037 Golden Arm Award winner Luppe van Dam took the loss for Crystal Lake.

With Niihama-shi leading 2-1 in the top of the fourth, Samurakami hit a curveball from Luppe van Dam for a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Ghosts ahead, 6-1.

"We've got a great group of guys," Samurakami said, "and we're having fun right now."

With the victory, the Ghosts record stands at 96-64.
