Battousai Get One-Run Win at Kuwana
|
The Edo Battousai turned back the Kuwana Steel Dragons, 4-3, at Steelfire Stadium. Norberto Escamilla, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 2-2 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. The winner in relief was Scott Tilton. He is now 6-5. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. Edo raised its record to 81-77 with the win.
Randall Perry, who is tied for 8th in the TRI in bases on balls with 60, had a direct impact on the outcome. Perry contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Edo up, 4-3.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Kuwana manager Naosuke Horiuchi.
