Okinawa Grabs 2-0 Road Win
|
The Okinawa Shisa beat the Crystal Lake Sandgnats, 2-0, at Ellison Field at Dole Park. Starting pitcher Yoritomo Hayakawa was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Hayakawa, now 14-7, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing no runs. Shou Saitou, who is tied for 6th in the SL in saves with 26, nailed down the save.
The Shisa got a big at-bat from first baseman Javier Aguilar. For the game, Aguilar went 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the first, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Okinawa a 1-0 lead.
"Yoritomo set the tone with his ability to attack the hitters," said Okinawa manager Yoriyoshi Tanaka.
Okinawa goes to 59-48, Crystal Lake to 63-45.
