Kennedy, Battousai March to 7-4 Victory
|
The Edo Battousai defeated the Kure Arsenal, 7-4, at Newark Grounds. Clint Kennedy was a standout performer for Edo. His 4 hits included 3 singles and 1 double -- this in addition to the 2 runs he scored and 3 he knocked in. The winner in relief was Eduardo Gallegos. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Vicente Ramírez recorded the save, making him 17 for 21.
Kennedy had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count curveball from Lance Harris, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the Battousai a 5-4 lead. It was the 4th double of the year for Kennedy.
"Anytime you're seeing it well, it's a good feeling," Kennedy told the Edo Observer.
The victory gives the Battousai a record of 77-75.
